yesterday i was spent some time checking out the latest student work from the eddie adams workshop. there are some really nice pieces here, and i’m always happy to see different takes on the audio slideshow.
for those of you who are unfamiliar with eddie adams:
The Eddie Adams Workshop is an intense four-day gathering of the top professionals in photojournalism, along with 100 carefully selected students. The Workshop’s purpose is to create a forum in which an exchange of ideas, techniques, and philosophies can be shared between both established members and newcomers of the profession of picture journalism. The Workshop is tuition-free, and the 100 students are chosen based on the merit of their portfolios. 2006 will mark the 19th year of the Eddie Adams Workshop.
while there are some shortcomings apparent in the pieces, please keep in mind that these projects were put together over the course of a weekend. for the most part they’re full of good photographs, nice audio and coherent stories. with these kinds of time restraints, this kind of final product should be applauded.
congratulations are in order for several of my friends who attended this most recent eddie adams including colin hicks, jay heinz, whitney shefte, rich beckman, tom kennedy, leah latella and brandon smith. rock out to multimedia students.
the pictures are clickable, too. just a little F Y for ur I.
